Male Escort Melbourne – February 3, 2024
Rating: ★★★★☆
In a hotel room, Nancy Stokes welcomes a male escort named Leo Grande. Anxious, she explains that she has never had an orgasm, and has vowed never again to fake one after the death of her husband two years earlier. Nancy is insecure about her body and age, and embarrassed at having hired Leo, who tries to put her at ease.
“Good Luck to You, Leo Grande” is a delightful and thought-provoking film that gracefully navigates the complexities of love, intimacy, and self-discovery. Directed by Sophie Hyde and starring Emma Thompson in a remarkable performance, this charming drama comedy takes a refreshing approach to storytelling, breaking free from conventional romantic narratives.
The film centers around Nancy Stokes (Emma Thompson), a retired teacher in her late 50s who, after years of sexual unfulfillment, decides to embark on a journey of sexual liberation. Rather than succumbing to societal expectations and limitations associated with age, Nancy chooses to explore her desires and break free from the constraints that have defined her life for far too long.
Emma Thompson delivers a powerhouse performance, seamlessly embodying the vulnerability, courage, and humor of her character. Her nuanced portrayal captures the essence of a woman on a quest for self-discovery, and her chemistry with the supporting cast is palpable.
The narrative, although centered on the exploration of sexuality, goes beyond the surface, touching upon themes of empowerment, acceptance, and the importance of embracing one’s true self. The script, penned by Katy Brand, combines humor with moments of genuine emotional depth, creating a well-balanced and engaging experience for the audience.
The supporting cast, including Daryl McCormack as Leo Grande, adds depth to the story, providing both comedic relief and moments of genuine connection. Leo’s character, a sex worker hired by Nancy to fulfill her desires, is portrayed with sensitivity and complexity, challenging preconceived notions about intimacy and relationships.
Sophie Hyde’s direction is commendable, as she navigates the delicate subject matter with grace and authenticity. The film’s cinematography beautifully captures the emotional landscape of the characters, complemented by a well-curated soundtrack that enhances the overall viewing experience.
While “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande” may not be everyone’s cup of tea due to its unconventional premise, it succeeds in delivering a poignant and empowering message about embracing life’s opportunities, regardless of age or societal expectations. It challenges societal norms surrounding aging and sexuality, offering a fresh perspective on love and liberation.
“Good Luck to You, Leo Grande” is a heartwarming and thought-provoking film that stands out for its exceptional performances, nuanced storytelling, and its ability to tackle complex themes with both humor and sincerity. It’s a testament to the idea that love and self-discovery have no expiration date, making it a must-watch for those seeking a different, yet deeply resonant, cinematic experience.
I’ve had a few clients/lovers that had watched this movie, and it has inspired them to take that step and meet me. And they’ve all said that it’s much better in real life than it is in the film 😉
The only qualms I have about the movie is that while they used my name, Leo, I was not consulted on the content of the movie, nor paid any royalties, hehe. And with my years of personal experience in the industry I could have wrote the movie a fair bit better, and that’s why I’ve given it a 4 out of 5 stars.
Though saying that, it’s a good watch, and with a mix of comedy, drama, self-discovery, and a bit of romance, it can provide a bit of an insight into what a date with a male escort could look like. I like any television shows or movies that feature women seeing male escorts, because it helps with the cultural shift that’s been going on for just around ten to fifteen years, of women feeling more confident to get what they want, and feel the love, respect, and attention that they deserve.
“So I’ve made a list, of things that I’d like to get through…”

Contacting Leo was like a cry for help…I am 16 years single now…and I had almost forgotten what someones warm skin felt like. I was pretty traumatised after my marriage and a recent sexual assault. The idea to contact an escort grew after watching Leo Grande with Emma Thompson… I wrote my own story with Leo Dale….Leo certainly got my Serotonin level up…he is warm and sensitive to your needs… the massage was out of this world. I definitely will be back. Compare to the movie it took Leo only 30 minutes to break through my long fostered protective barriers. With many years of experience Leo knows what women want, he knew exactly what I needed…I didn’t even had to explain it to him….thank you Lovedoctor❤️
