Better Man, Movie Review

Male Escort Melbourne – Jan 2, 2025

Brilliant. Fucken brilliant.

Well I wasn’t sure what my first blog for 2025 would be, until on New Year’s Eve I was in the cinema and saw the movie Better Man. I found the movie to be so emotional, alternating from making you laugh, to making you cry. And I think surely anyone who sees it would have to feel  touched in some way by this movie

The Robbie Williams biopic takes you on a rollercoaster ride through fame, fortune, and the fragile threads that bind them. It’s brilliant, not just in its storytelling but in its ability to reveal the unseen battles behind the spotlight.

We often think those who “have it all” are living the dream. But Better Man makes you pause and reconsider. It reminds us that behind every dazzling smile or chart-topping hit, there’s a human being, potentially grappling with insecurities, pressures, and struggles we may never understand.

One of the most striking elements of the film is how seamlessly Robbie’s music is woven into the narrative. Iconic songs like Angels and Feel don’t just serve as a soundtrack; they become emotional touchpoints, pulling you deeper into his story. Hearing these classics in a new context gives them fresh meaning, turning nostalgia into profound reflection.

The film’s emotional depth is striking. It doesn’t shy away from showing the raw and messy parts of Robbie’s journey—the moments of self-doubt, the battles with mental health, and the search for identity amidst the chaos of stardom. Yet, there’s humor woven through it all, keeping the tone light enough to make you laugh but never undermining the gravity of its themes.

There are many unforgettable scenes showing Robbie standing on stage, the roar of the crowd fading into silence as he gazes out into the sea of faces. In that moment, he’s no longer the superstar everyone idolizes; he’s just a man yearning for connection, haunted by the fear of not being enough. The vulnerability in his eyes is palpable, and it’s a moment that stays with you—a reminder that even in our brightest moments, we can feel alone.

I want to tell you so much about it, but don’t want to give any spoilers, but let’s just say that I wasn’t sure about the monkey portraying Robbie, but as soon as the movie starts it fits perfectly, and more so as it goes on.

What makes Better Man unforgettable is its universality. While it’s about Robbie Williams, the story resonates with anyone who’s ever faced self-doubt or felt the weight of expectations. It’s a mirror reflecting the truth that everyone is fighting their own battle, whether or not it’s visible to the world.

The performances are stellar, the cinematography is breathtaking, and the script is intelligent and heartfelt. But what truly makes Better Man a masterpiece is its ability to connect—to remind us of the shared human experience and the importance of empathy.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re not enough or wondered what it’s like to walk in someone else’s shoes, this film will stay with you long after you leave the theater. It’s not just a movie; it’s a reminder to be kinder—to others and to yourself.

In the end, Better Man isn’t just a film about Robbie Williams—it’s a story about all of us. It’s a tender reminder that every person we meet carries unseen battles, joys, and heartbreaks. It asks us to look beyond the surface, to embrace compassion, and to remember that vulnerability isn’t a weakness—it’s the foundation of our shared humanity. This movie doesn’t just tell a story; it invites you to live with greater kindness and understanding, for yourself and for others. And that, perhaps, is the most brilliant gift of all.
