The other week I was jogging along the Yarra river, from South Yarra to the city and back, and I must say I was very impressed with how people are managing to keep a social distance between themselves and others, and helping to stop the spread of COVID-19.
As I was enjoying my jog, on a nice cloudy day, with a bit of light rain, there were a few others who were exercising as well. A few others jogging, some cyclists, and some people walking.
And everyone was maintaining a safe social distance, which was great to see.
One guy was jogging past me, and said to me “Respect.”
To which I replied “Respect. Thanks man. Stay safe hey.”
As he jogged past me, at a safe distance, he replied “Thanks. Will do. You too mate.”
This gives me faith in humanity to do our best to fight this virus. Knowing that, in general, when times turn bad, we look out for each other. Respect each other. And do our best to help others. The only good thing about bad times like this is that it makes us realise how good most people are – It brings out the good in people.
It’s important to keep as healthy as we can. And of course not just in terms of COVID-19, but in all areas.
As you know, I have a complete STI screening test every three to four months, for your peace of mind as well as my own – And the results of my latest test have came back all clear, as they always have, and as is always to be expected.
Our health is important, and we are all lucky to be alive, in this wonderful world.
Let’s not take our health for granted. Let’s stay safe, together.
